New WebSBC™ Session Border Controllers and Developer Program Enable Enterprise- and Carrier-Grade WebRTC Applications and Services

San Diego, CA – June 25, 2013 – More than 1 billion PCs, smartphones, tablets and other endpoints now support WebRTC, Google says, and by 2016, Disruptive Analysis predicts the installed base will hit 3.9 billion. Sansay™ Inc. today announced a next-generation session border controller (SBC) and developer program designed to help telcos, VoIP providers and other companies target that growing customer base by creating enterprise- and carrier-grade WebRTC applications and services.

Sansay’s WebSBC™ architecture delivers a carrier-class Media Engine and highly scalable WebRTC-SIP interconnect for revenue-generating WebRTC applications within service provider networks. WebSBC also eliminates the complexity and expense of dedicated WebRTC-SIP gateways and heavyweight browser clients with embedded SIP stacks. Instead, WebSBC encapsulates both functions into the application layer via the RAPID development environment.

WebSBC is an evolution of the VSXi SBC, which more than 350 service providers worldwide currently rely on to maximize the performance, profitability and growth of their VoIP networks and services. WebSBC is available now for evaluation in both service provider hosted and platform-as-a service (PaaS) models.

Sansay’s new Real-Time App Developer (RAPID) program minimizes the time to market for creating and deploying WebRTC apps for both service provider and enterprise markets. Currently available as a preview, RAPID includes a RESTful Web API for WebRTC media plane control and WebRTC-SIP interconnect, sample app articles and a developer Q&A forum.

Access to the RAPID preview is available now at developer.sansay.com. Developers also can request access to the WebSBC cloud for app testing, ensuring a high-quality user experience for their customers from the very first day of deployment.

“Sansay’s experience with manageable large-scale application development will ease deployment efforts and deliver revenue generating applications for new business lines,” said Glen Gerhard, Sansay VP of Product Management.
